Netandhost.com, one of six accredited registrars for the .IN web domain registration, has opened an online pre-registration service prior to February 16, 2005 - the date when .IN Registry opens to the public for registration of .IN domain names - providing the opportunity to companies and individuals to secure their preferred .IN domain names and identity from being 'snatched.

Chennai (PRWEB) February 12, 2005 -- Netandhost.com, one of six accredited registrars for the .IN web domain registration, has opened an online pre-registration service prior to February 16, 2005 - the date when .IN Registry opens to the public for registration of .IN domain names - providing the opportunity to companies and individuals to secure their preferred .IN domain names and identity from being 'snatched.

The .IN web domain registration was initially open for registered trademark owners until January 21, 2005. From February 16, 2005, anyone can apply for an available .IN domain name.

Mr. Das added 'Pre-registrations are made on first-come-first-served basis ensuring that once pre-application is accepted, there is no conflict for same domain names among those registering with Netandhost.com.

In India, .IN is the allocated country code Top Level Domain. .IN, as the official internet domain of India can be adopted by individuals, businesses, service organizations and government entities to establish their Indian identity in the internet space. The extension of the .IN domain name Registry services is facilitated by the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), promoted by the Department of Information Technology (DIT).
