Thousands of Job Opportunities Available Online for African American Women

Economic downturn translates into more jobs for Black women.

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) February 17, 2009

Despite an ongoing recession and a down economy, major companies and organizations still have available job positions. Most of them have strong diversity initiatives and love to hire minorities, and many are specifically looking to hire African American women. The reason: Black women represent one of the most well-respected and influential demographics on the planet.

Statistics show that Black women are goal-oriented, career-driven, and very entrepreneurial. Compared to their white and non-white male counterparts, they are more likely to start a business, be successful in business, create jobs, and give back to their communities. Employers and recruiters are reporting that this is exactly who they want as future leaders at their companies.

As a result, companies have posted thousands of active job opportunities on BlackWomenConnect.com - a free online community for professional Black women that empowers them and allows them to interact with each other. These well-paying jobs range in industry and vary in position from managers to directors to account executives and more. New jobs are being added every single day.

Women who qualify to apply for the jobs include those who have or are earning an Associates, Bachelors, and Masters degrees and/or who have certifications, experience and skills. A degree, however, is not required.

Companies that are posting jobs on the site include: Sodexho, Microsoft, Nike, Kelloggs, Google, Fedex, Allstate, PBS, Chrysler, Best Buy, Time Warner - just to name a few.
