Peace Corps Streamlining Online Hiring and Workforce Management with Avue Technologies Managers of Peace Corps nearly one thousand worldwide employees will use Avue's workforce management technology. Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 14, 2005 -- Managers at the Peace Corps now utilize an online, on-demand, subscription solution to enhance the agencys workforce management and hiring activities. Provided by Avue Technologies, the Position Management, Recruitment, Retention and Staffing (PMRRS) module is expanding the Peace Corps personnel management capacity and broadening the agencys recruitment reach to an high quality and diverse applicant pool.
The Peace Corps system went online on December 17 as part of a five year contract with Avue.
Were excited to the add Peace Corps to our ever-growing roster of Federal agency clients," said Linda Rix, Co-CEO of Avue Technologies. The agencys unique mission and worldwide reach presents unique workforce challenges, and our technology and experience is the perfect fit."
Managers of the Peace Corps nearly one thousand worldwide full-time employees will use Avues technology to identify organizational needs and to classify and recruit for agency positions. Avues PMRRS module will determine the correct pay band, performance measures, outreach and recruitment sources, and the criteria used to evaluate applicants for each position.
The system also manages electronic recruitment, expanding the agencys reach to the broadest possible, most diverse applicant pool. Openings are automatically posted to Avues 1,100 recruitment sites and the technology digitally assesses the qualifications of all applicants based on system-created criteria. Mangers receive lists of the most qualified applicants in real time, saving valuable agency time and resources.
Peace Corps managers, like all Avue users, access Avue Digital Services online through standard web browsers. The technology combines database content with application functionality, allowing the Peace Corps to deploy the system worldwide immediately. Because the infrastructure is already available at the time of subscription, customer agencies require no capital investment in hardware, software, content or support.
Providing Federal agencies with on-demand services is key to efficient procurement," concluded Rix. This model frees agencies to meet management challenges in real time with solutions that are immediately available and that tackle tough legacy problems that are often very complex. On-demand frees agencies from the 40+ year model of license fees, per-seat or transaction fees, and other capital intensive, and antiquated, software procurements. Subscription services allow the Federal government to take advantage of the economies of scale a true native-Web architecture can provide -- linking customers to shared code, content, and infrastructure that deploy solutions in days, not years. The savings from system integrator costs alone are staggering."
