The History of Distinctive Homes at Pear Mountain

While this isnt the first home of note to be built on Pear Mountain, it is certainly the most spectacular. Pear Mountain, once known as the Levy estate, was formerly owned by Bill and Esther Levy. The couple founded Yield House in North Conway, a well-known furniture company and early pioneer in mail order sales.

In 1962, the Levys built their dream home, a 3,000-square-foot contemporary, perched on the bluff of Pear Mountain, surrounded by 118 acres of scenic woodlands. In 2002, the Levy estate was sold to Pear Mountain Associates, who sub-divided the property into a 12-lot residential neighborhood designed to maximize the natural beauty and expansive views of this White Mountain locale.

At present, there is one outstanding home on the market at Pear Mountain. Built by JW Mallett Custom Homes, it is a 4,400-square-foot home set on six acres with views to Crawford Notch, including the Saco River. This home is being marketed by Kathleen Sullivan Head of Badger Realtys Jackson, New Hampshire, office.
