The 19th Annual Soap Opera Digest Awards Winners Chosen Exclusively by the Fans Soap Opera Digest Announces the Winners of the 19th Annual Soap Opera Digest Awards New York, NY (PRWEB) February 16, 2005 -- In the issue on stands February 15 (Cover Date: February 22), Soap Opera Digest Magazine, Americas favorite soap magazine for almost 30 years, announces the winners of the 19th Annual Soap Opera Digest Awards.
The Soap Opera Digest Awards are the only major soap awards where fans alone determine the winners. The editors selected nominees in 16 categories: Outstanding Lead actor/ actress, Outstanding Supporting Actor/ Actress, Outstanding Younger Lead Actor /Actress, Outstanding Male/ Female Newcomer, Favorite Couple, Favorite Villainess/ Villain, Favorite Return, Favorite New Couple, Favorite Triangle, Favorite Teen and Favorite Show
For the 10th time, fans chose ABCs General Hospital as their Favorite Show.
Maurice Benard and Tamara Braun (ABCs General Hospital) swept the Outstanding Lead Actor/ Actress category while Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn (NBCs Days of Our Lives) nabbed the Favorite Couple category. The Outstanding Supporting category was split between Rick Hearst (ABCs General Hospital) and Alison Sweeney (NBCs Days of Our Lives). Ms. Sweeney was the only actor to win in two categories (Supporting Actress and Favorite New Couple). The Outstanding Younger Lead category went to ABC-TV (General Hospitals Scott Clifton) and (All My Childrens Eden Riegel).
