Does My Picture Look Like Me? Los Angeles Actors Learn the Answer from Industry Pros

On Sunday, February 27, Los Angeles actors will have the opportunity to have their headshots evaluated by industry professionals when TVI Actors Studio, the nation’s largest acting school and resource center for actors, hosts a free Headshot Event at 14429 Ventura Blvd., in Sherman Oaks. From 1pm to 4pm actors will meet over 25 of Los Angeles’ top headshot photographers and industry managers, agents, and casting directors.

Contrary to popular belief, scars, freckles, laugh lines and other imperfections help actors land jobs. On Sunday, February 27, Los Angeles actors will have the opportunity to have their headshots evaluated by industry professionals when TVI Actors Studio, the nation’s largest acting school and resource center for actors, hosts a free Headshot Event at 14429 Ventura Blvd., in Sherman Oaks. From 1pm to 4pm actors will meet over 25 of Los Angeles’ top headshot photographers and industry managers, agents, and casting directors.

“Most actors do not realize that we need to see your freckles,” said casting director Dean Fronk, who will be attending the event. “The last thing we want is for an actor to walk in the door that does not look like their picture. Then the actor has wasted everyone’s time because they are not what we thought they would be.”

“Part of being an ‘actor-preneur,’ an entrepreneurial actor who knows how to manage his acting career as a business, is knowing whether or not his picture is marketing himself effectively,” said Chief Executive Office Alan S. Nusbaum of TVI Actors Studio. Nusbaum further stated, “Actors must seek multiple opinions because the entertainment business can be so subjective. That is why we will have an agent, a casting director, and a personal manager at the event.”
