Montreal, QC (PRWEB) February 25, 2005 -- Through radio interviews and an abundance of email forwards Kyle MacDonald is enlisting thousands of cohorts to help him collect 3000 postcards by April 1st. Kyle will deliver these post cards to the famous Post Office Bay in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, and grab a new handful of postcards from the word-famous 'Post Office Barrel. In anticipation of collecting a group of funny and absurd traveling stories, Kyle will deliver each post card to its original deliverer, wherever they may be.

The age-old tradition of the Post Office Barrel dates back to 1793 when English whalers set up an impromptu stamp-free postal service. Travelers from around the world still participate by dropping a postcard addressed to a friend in the barrel and take another upon departure, with the intention of hand-delivering it themselves.

Several people have done this over the years, but not at this capacity," Kyle says. I hope to meet dozens of interesting people and collect many crazy stories from some out-of-the-way places on earth."

Inspired by 'Dave Gormans Googlewhack Adventure, Danny Wallaces 'Random Acts of Kindness, and Lindsy Van Gelders 'Special Delivery, Kyle expects to have 3000 post cards by April 1st from people all over the world that want their postcard in the most famous barrel on earth.

Kyle, 25, and a Vancouver, B.C. native has traveled to over 35 countries on five continents, where he worked different temporary jobs and turned many of his experiences into funny short stories in his first book, 'Six Degrees of Bacon, 2005.
