(PRWEB) February 25, 2005 -- March marks the one-year anniversary of CCs Acoustic Underground Showcase (CAUSE) at the Elbo Room in SF, and CC has invited some of the areas most-loved underground artists to celebrate. The event raises money for important causes while presenting an eclectic mix of acoustic music on the third Monday of each month. In honor of the international day of protest against the continued occupation of Iraq on the second anniversary of the U.S. invasion, all proceeds will benefit the United for Peace and Justice Bay Area organization.

Shelley Doty was part of one of the first shows there last year, and she returns to the series with her band, she calls her "X-tet." The SF Chronicle recently noted that while the lineup of this band may change from show to show, the performance is always "tight, energetic and dynamic." (SF Chron 1/28/05).

Also performing will be Kid Beyond, aka Andrew Chaikin, is a vocalist, throat singer and beatboxer, who won the "Best Beatboxer" category in the SF Weeklys, Best of SF 2004.

The eclectic acoustic blues man that the "Godmother of Rock" Nadine Condon calls "a troubadour for the 21st century," Mokai, performs each month at CAUSE, offering new songs and a unique performance each time, anchored by his daring guitar work and bold poetic lyrics. This month, Seth Ford Young will join Mokai on upright bass.

Jason Miller is a songwriter who used to play in the popular mid-west jam band Citrus, will be celebrating the release of his latest solo CD, 114 Echo Ave, which was produced by East Bay guitarist Myles Boisen, of Tom Waits fame.

Boisen just produced the debut release of a duo that is returning to the CAUSE, Mia and Jonah, who will be joined by Seth Ford Young on upright bass as well.
