Small Press Goes Big: Moo Press Expands into Keene Publishing Moo Press, Inc, independent publisher of fiction and nonfiction for children and adults, expands into Keene Publishing to give the company a broader name that works across genres. The name change reflects a commitment to reaching even more readers and, in the word's of the company's motto "illuminating lives, one book at a time." Warwick, NY (PRWEB) February 26, 2005 -- Diane Tinney Keene, founder of Moo Press, Inc. (located in Warwick, NY), announced today that her independent publishing house is growing into Keene Publishing. Moo Press, Inc. was founded in 2002 and has published three childrens books, one YA title, and one business book (www.KeeneBooks.com).
The accolades for Moo Presss title Aidan of Oren-a BookSense Childrens pick, audio rights sold to Recorded Books, and recent review attention from ForeWord magazine (March/April issue)-has reinforced their belief that a small press can prosper in this industry and that a commitment to quality books that give readers something new can result in success.
Beginning in 2005, the Moo Press imprint moves under the broader umbrella of the Keene Publishing name. The book industry and general public have strongly identified the Moo Press name and logo with our children's books," says Melissa Browne, Managing Editor. "With several adult books to be published each year, the need for a broader imprint name that works across genres became quickly apparent," says Publicist Allison Tevald.
Browne, Tevald and Keene assure book reviewers and buyers that books from Keene Publishing will be of the same high quality that readers have come to expect from Moo Press. Our vision has always been and continues to be to publish a variety of good books that can have a positive impact on peoples lives," says Keene. Keene's dream is not limited to an easy niche. When we find good books-books that inform and inspire, regardless of the genre-we want to get them into the hands of readers." Keene explains. Our new motto reflects the dream I had when I founded Moo Press, to 'illuminate lives, one book at a time."
Keene, the author of numerous computer books, is included in the 2005 Whos Who in America, and most recently was nominated to be included in the Who's Who of American Women 2006-2007 to be published in November 2005. A frequent speaker on a variety of topics, Keene lives in Warwick with her husband James Keene and their son Dave Keene.
Keene Publishing is a Women-Owned business. Books they have published include: Aidan of Oren, One Incredible Dog! Lady, Creating a Culture of Success, Woodbyrne: The Fallen Forest, and Marvin Monster's Big Date. An additional six titles will be published in 2005.
