High Plains History Company Announces Summer Tours

The High Plains History Company announces new tour packages for Summer 2005. The tours highlight the history of the northern high plains of the American West.

(PRWEB) March 1, 2005 -- The High Plains History Company has published its Summer 2005 itinerary featuring tours of historic sites in Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota.

The High Plains History Company's tours include the route of the Bozeman Trail, the Cheyenne to Deadwood Stage Route, exploration of the Black Hills and a tour of South Dakota's Badlands.

The High Plains History Company is dedicated to preserving the true history of the American West and strives to have the most informative guides. The company also works to give clients plenty of time to walk and absorb historical information on their own, while proving a wealth of facts.

According to High Plains History's president Chris Orr, "The goal is to take people to historic places and make the tours both fresh, intimate and interesting. It is all about having people feel like they really know the people, places and events that made history." Guides are familiar with all of the destinations and they are on the constant lookout for new locations. "We try to stay off of the beaten path as much as possible," says Orr. "The HBO show 'Deadwood' has made the region more popular than ever and we want to show people the real West."

Destinations on the High Plains History Company's Summer 2005 tours include Deadwood SD, Sheridan WY, Billings MT, Custer SD, Pine Ridge SD, Fort Phil Kearny WY and Little Big Horn MT. Tours use quality hotels and motels, and feature local restaurants or cafes for meals. "We want people to connect with the communities they visit. They will experience local hospitality, real people and get an understanding of the people who live where they visit."

In addition, High Plains History Company will host a week at an operating horse and cattle ranch in September 2005, and again in October 2005.

Tours can accommodate any size group from families to over 100 people. All tours are round trip, starting at Rapid City, South Dakota.

Hotel and motel accommodations as well as most meals are included in the cost of the tours.
