Soraida Martinez, The Artist Known for Verdadism, is Guest on Another View PBS Television Program

Soraida Martinez, the Harlem-New York born artist of Puerto Rican heritage who is known for creating Verdadism, will appear as a guest on "Another View", a Trenton-New Jersey based PBS television program

focusing on new perspectives and creative thinkers. Since debuting Verdadism in 1992, Soraida has been recognized for her socially-conscious art, which is being used by educators nationwide to teach diversity and as cover art for books and scholarly publications. Featured will be 5 of Soraida's figurative-abstract hard-edge paintings with social commentaries... including Interracial Family: The Way Society Sees It, What Prejudice Looks Like, La Vida Es Dura Una Mujer Como Yo and Following My Intuition. A book on Verdadism has been written by Soraida and is entitled: Soraida's Verdadism: The Intellectual Voice of a Puerto Rican Woman on Canvas; Unique, Controversial Images and Style.
