TJ Walkers List of Most Notable (Best and Worst) Academy Awards Acceptance Speeches With hundreds of millions of worldwide viewers, The 2005 Academy Awards was a showcase for the best and worst public speaking skills on earth. Noted public speaking coach and media trainer TJ Walker rated the best and the worst of the presenters. Each presenter was rated in 10 separate categories on a 1 worst--10 best scale. (PRWEB) February 28, 2005 -- Worst Speaker of the night (rating: 2 out of 10). Clint Eastwood said more 'uhs (I lost count at 28) than a 7th grader trying to explain why he is smoking a cigarette in the school bathroom. Dirty Harry might be cool when it comes to gun fighting, but he stammered and scratched his head so often in a look of befuddlement that he appeared to be portraying George Bush explaining where WMDs are. Clint told us his mom was really old, but so what? Message to Clint: Next time, prepare a real speech."
Best Speaker of the night (rating 9 out of 10). Jamie Foxx put on a show at the Oscars. He sang, he emoted, he thanked. He was personal, touching, prepared, and yet, spontaneous, working in a comment from his daughter from a moment before, 'If you dont win, youre still good." He told a great, short story, including dialogue about Sidney Poitier, and he got lots of laughs. And this time, unlike during his Golden Globes speech, he was able to talk about his grandmother without falling into incoherence. His only faults were that he looked down too much instead of at the audience, and he commented on his own speech (this is going to be the toughest part) instead of just delivering it."
