Hitched up with Entity FX

Entity FX created all the visual effects for the blockbuster hit "Hitch"

Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) March 10, 2005 -- Entity FX created all the visual effects for Sonys Hitch, starring Will Smith, Eva Mendes and Kevin James. The widely successful romantic comedy was the number one film at the international box office this past weekend. In only three weeks, Hitch has already grossed over $138 million.

The film was directed by Andy Tennant who teamed up with Entity FX in 2002 for the visual effects in Sweet Home Alabama.

Mat Beck, VFX Supervisor and President of Entity FX, stated: "It was a delight to work with Andy again. It's fun to drop photo-real effects into non-effects stories, and this is such a good story. Will Smith was great to work with too; I got the impression he had done some VFX work before."

Entity's effects consisted largely of enhancing the New York environment for the story. In one sequence, the two lead characters are racing jet skis in the Hudson River. Smith and Mendes were actually shot in a marina in Brooklyn. Entity FX artists then added digital backgrounds of various Manhattan skylines to place the actors in the classic evocative location.

In examples of other scenes, Entity FX wafted a burning amaretto cookie wrapper romantically over the New York skyline and placed Kevin James' and Amber Valletta's characters into a Rock Hudsonesque fantasy sequence in a convertible on the Golden Gate Bridge.

Currently, Entity FX is generating CG VW's, Nascar racers, and 85,000 fans for the upcoming Disney film Herbie: Fully Loaded starring Lindsay Lohan. Entity FX continues to produce all the Visual Effects for the WB series Smallville, as well as the Night Stalker pilot for Touchstone and Supernatural for the WB.
