Harth Builders was also presented a 2009 CotY Meritorious Award for Residential Interiors under $100,000. Lower Gwynedd, PA (PRWEB) February 26, 2009 Harth Builders, a second generation design-build remodeling company, was presented a Contractor of the Year (CotY) award in the Residential Exteriors under $100,000 category by the Bucks-Mont Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. Harth Builders was also presented a 2009 CotY Meritorious Award for Residential Interiors under $100,000. Both projects were done on a home built in 1923 and originally owned by Robert Cassatt, son of Alexander Cassatt (President of the Pennsylvania Railroad) and nephew of Mary Cassatt (famous Impressionist painter). Robert Cassatt had the house built for his son Alexander (named after his grandfather) as a wedding gift, which included a golf course in the back that has since been subdivided. Modifications had been made over the years by previous homeowners destroyed the original character of the property. The new homeowners wanted to remove the 1970's elements and construction and restore it in a way that complimented the character of the house, honoring and maintaining the original grandeur and craftsmanship. "This was no run of the mill house but rather something rich with Philadelphia history with ties to the English and French style. We were particularly honored for the creative opportunity to work in collaboration with the homeowners to restore their exceptional property," says Gregory Harth, President of Harth Builders.
