Critics Continue To Rave About Suspense Novel 'Forgiving Solomon Long'

Positive reviews from Crossings Book Club, CCM Magazine, and Christian Fiction Review; major interview in Infuze Magazine

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) March 16, 2005 -- Reviewers continue to praise the crime fiction debut by Chris Well, "Forgiving Solomon Long" (Harvest House Publishers). Already hailed by "Publishers Weekly" for breaking new ground in faith-based fiction, it is a suspense thriller for fans of "Get Shorty," "Macbeth" and "100 Bullets."

Adding to the acclaim is Crossings Book Club, a division of the Bookspan family of book clubs, which serves 10 million members. In its most recent mailing, Crossings featured the novel prominently in a half-page review, commenting, "If there's one lesson I learned from 'Forgiving Solomon Long,' its that no one has fallen so far that he cant be redeemed."

CCM Magazine reviewer Anneka Morgan gave "Forgiving Solomon Long" an A-plus. "We join the bandwagon," she wrote, adding, "It's good -- very good. ... This faith-based thriller will both surprise and delight you."

"It pays off well," chimed in Web site Christian Fiction Review, which featured the novel on its front page. "Excellent work for an inaugural novel. Recommended."

In addition, Infuze Magazine spotlighted author Chris Well in a front page story. Infuze editor Robin Parrish called "Forgiving Solomon Long" "a powerful tale of suspense and the power of mercy."

In the novel, Kansas City crime boss "Fat Cat" Frank Catalano has his fingers in nearly every kind of business in town -- legal or otherwise. A local coalition is trying to break Fat Cats stranglehold, so the crime boss flies in a cold-blooded contract killer named Solomon Long to knock off troublemakers.

But when one of his kills goes horribly awry, the hit man is haunted by a preachers dying words: "I forgive you."

"Forgiving Solomon Long" is available from booksellers everywhere.

An award-winning writer and editor of 20 years, Chris Well is editor of Homecoming Magazine and contributing editor to CCM Magazine. A former resident of the Alton, Ill., area, he makes his home with his wife in Nashville, Tennessee. "Forgiving Solomon Long" is his first novel.
