(PRWEB) March 17, 2005 -- The Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE), the non-profit, self-supporting joint venture of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Rutgers University and Seton Hall University, featured Vasiliki Pagidas, Esq. on the distinguished panel of the 2005 Workers Compensation Basics seminar at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.

The Workers Compensation Basics seminar is designed as a nuts and bolts" course for new lawyers, general practitioners and trial attorneys who do not normally handle workers compensation cases. Ms. Pagidas and the other panelists explained the legal standards and principles you need to understand when dealing with workers compensation claims.

Workers Compensation Law governs a job-related injury and, also, a condition or a disease caused or made worse by the kind of work one does -- i.e. arising out of or in the course of employment". Workers compensation cases may also involve disability, Social Security disability, third party personal injury, and/or mass tort or toxic tort claims, as well. As a result, the New Jersey State Bar maintains a Workers Compensation Section for this practice area and the New Jersey Supreme Court offers Workers' Compensation Trial Attorney certification as one of its designated accreditations.

All New Jersey lawyers, like other licensed professionals, are required to take continuing education courses throughout their careers as attorneys.

Vasiliki Pagidas, Esq., a Lawrenceville resident and an attorney specializing in New Jersey Workers Compensation and Social Security Disability Law in the Princeton based law firm of Pellettieri, Rabstein & Altman is a graduate of Seton Hall University Law School and Rutgers University -- Douglas College.
