An Adventure to envy

(PRWEB) March 22, 2005 -- George Peet of Harbor Springs Michigan and Newport Rd Island has climbed the mountain of yet another of his chosen sports. Formerly a three time academic and skiing all American, George has turned his gaze once again to sailing. Currently a professional sailor in races spanning the circuits of North America George is now in the final stages of the selection process to participate in the 36,000 Volvo Round the World race aboard the ABN-AMRO #2 boat. The selection process started with 1,800 Americans and is now down to the final three. The trials continue in Portimao Portugal until March 28th.

These seventy foot state of the art sloops, designed for the Volvo round the world race, are capable of speeds of thirty and forty knots downwind. The race begins in the fall of 2005. See the sailing pages of the ABN AMRO site for more information.
