Both teams finished the league season with records of 19-5 earning the right to advance to the championship match.

(PRWEB) March 23, 2005 -- Team Compete today announced the completion of the first Professional League play for Halo2 with the crowning of the first League Champions, The Goodfellas.

The league was conducted as an 8 week, 3 match per week league for 8 teams entered. The Goodfellas and Elite Carnage each finished with a 19-5 record and squared off for the championship match and the determination of who would take home the lions share of the prize pool. The Goodfellas came out on top and walked away with the first place prize pool of $900 and the Elite Carnage crew took home $600 for their efforts.

Were pleased with the operation of both the system itself and the teams and players that participated in this first Halo2 league in the TCPro League", said theVeeg, founder of Teamcompete. The competition was superb and the actions and decorum of the players was first class at all times. We picked up several key pointers to apply to subsequent seasons but all in all the first Halo2 league was a huge success for all parties. Im sure the Goodfellas would certainly echo that sentiment!"

About the Teamcompete Professional League

The Teamcompete Pro League offers competition in both prize and non-prize leagues where there can be free play open to every member or a team entry fee to establish the prize pool. Teamcompete and various sponsors create prize pools occasionally as in this inaugural Halo2 league. Membership in the TCPL is $50 annually and entitles individuals and teams to play in as many leagues as they can manage in their life schedule. Unlike ladder play, where matches can be scheduled at the convenience of the participating teams, the Pro leagues have fixed and scheduled matches similar to every organized sport from High School to Professional levels.
