The American Sugar Alliance Sweetens its Presence on the Web The American Sugar Alliance launches a new website to promote education on sugar. Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 7, 2009 With a new Administration and Congress in Washington, the American Sugar Alliance launched last week an updated educational website that will better communicate with the association's core audience of sugar farmers, media, and policymakers. The American Sugar Alliance partnered with leading DC web design company Blue Water Media to update its web presence. Blue Water Media began with a new design that was both more user-friendly and more aesthetically pleasing. The design was then incorporated with the open-source content management system, Joomla!, an award-winning content management system (CMS) that will enable the American Sugar Alliance staff to easily manage every piece of content on their website without requiring advanced code knowledge. In addition to a new design, utilization of web 2.0 elements and CMS, the website highlights the 'Sugar Beat,' a newsletter that communicates the latest news and developments on public policy affecting the sugar industry. It also provides information on the annual International Sweetener Symposium that brings together U.S. legislators, domestic and foreign officials, noted economists and high-profile international sweetener industry leaders to discuss sugar policy issues.
