Kansas City, MO. (PRWEB) March 9, 2009 Did the world forget? The Cold War ended leaving over 250,000 children left on the streets and in underfunded orphanages of Romania. Thousands died malnourished and found frozen in the underground sewers, while others just disappeared into the dark world of human trafficking, sold into the sex trade, many as young as 6 years of age. Almost seventeen years later, the children are still there, still suffering. The generation of the "forgotten" children is now having children of their own. The new generation children are viewed as "disposable" just sitting, waiting, and disappearing into the night. Cheri Anderson, determined to be part of the solution, recently resigned from her career as an executive with a Fortune 500 company and formed the nonprofit organization Blind Focus. "I could no longer just sit and allow this injustice to happen to these innocent children," says Anderson. She is often referred to as a "blind visionary. " The label suits her. She lost most of her sight when she was a young teenager. However, her vision of a world yet to be realized is in clear focus. Blind Focus's solution strategy is two-fold, long-term sustainable transformation and immediate need resolution. A diverse team made up of Child Physiologists, Education Specialists, Pastors, Business Executives from both the private and public sector, along with Non Governmental Organizations (NGO's) have joined forces to develop the business plan. "This business plan is a very detailed and precise road map that will be utilized to achieve remarkable results in a very condensed time manor. The plan is in place. We now need the bright floodlights shining on this atrocity and the people to get involved. We are determined to win this battle and provide hope to these children," states Anderson.
