New York Philanthropist Honored in Family Legacy Newsletter

Roey Diefendorf, CEO of Diefendorf Capital Planning Associates in Locust Valley, NY, was featured in this month's Family Legacy Newsletter for his Turning Books into Buses Campaign.

Irving, TX (PRWEB) March 15, 2009 -- How do you turn a warehouse of books into a bus that can drive the economy of an African village? Philanthropist and financial advisor Roey Diefendorf of Locust Valley, NY has found a way, and it has earned him some recognition in the Family Legacy monthly newsletter. Family Legacy is an organization based in Irving, TX that provides school fees, health care, economic support and mentorship to children in Zambia, Africa orphaned by the AIDS epidemic. Diefendorf became involved with Family Legacy in 2004, when his daughter, Emily, traveled to Zambia to work with Family Legacy as part of their Camp Life program. Diefendorf himself went in the summer of 2007.

His newest contribution to the Family Legacy organization is the launch of his "Turning Books into Buses" Campaign. Diefendorf has pledged that he would donate all proceeds from the sales of his latest book, "3 Dimensional Wealth: A Radically Sane Perspective on Wealth Management," to go directly to the purchase of buses for use in Lusaka, Zambia. On top of every book that is purchased, Diefendorf's family foundation is matching the proceeds dollar for dollar. The buses would be used for public transportation around Zambia, generating jobs and raising funds for the people of Zambia. The buses cost $20,000 each, and Diefendorf's goal is to raise enough for 10 buses. He has already purchased 2 buses and is over 50% of the way to a third.
