Sea View Technologies Golf Classic Set for Monday, September 19, 2005 to Benefit The Jimmy Fund

Sea View Technologies Golf Classic to benefit the Jimmy Fund is scheduled to be held at Wentworth By The Sea Country Club on Monday, September 19, 2005. Part of the Jimmy Fund Golf Program, this tournament is one of the more than 150 tournaments being held in 2005 to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Featuring a scramble format, The Sea View Golf Classic is open to the public. Registration is $165.00 and includes golf, dinner, and prizes.

In its 1st year, The Sea View Golf Classic hopes to raise over $15,000 for the Jimmy Fund. Begun in 2005, “Sea View realizes that almost every person’s life has been or has the potential to be directly affected by cancer in some way. Our efforts to raise money on behalf of The Jimmy Fund, were driven by our desire to contribute to an organization that reaches out and touches so many peoples lives directly and indirectly”, says Marketing Director, Kathy Layman.

“Over the 23 years that the Jimmy Fund has had an organized golf program, the golfing community has been incredibly supportive and has helped to raise more than $42 million for cutting edge research and care at Dana-Farber,” says Mike Andrews, chairman of the Jimmy Fund.

Major sponsors of the Jimmy Fund Golf Program include American Airlines, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Top-Flite, along with media sponsor Community Newspaper Company Inc.

Since 1983, the Jimmy Fund Golf Program has provided men and women the opportunity to support critical cancer research and patient care through participation in their favorite pastime - golf. Golfers get to enjoy the unique opportunity of playing on a variety of prestigious private courses while supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at the same time.

Tee-off for The Sea View Golf Classic is scheduled for 1:30pm with registration beginning at noon. The dinner buffet and awards is slated to begin at 6:00pm.
