NAUMD's 2005 Image of the Year Awards - Thirteen Lucky" Uniform Winners The National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) announced the top winners of the 2005 Image of the Year Awards competition during the opening breakfast at their 72nd Annual Convention, held at the Wyndham Palm Springs Hotel & Resort in California. This is the 27th year for the Image of the Year Awards competition. New York, NY (PRWEB) April 1, 2005 -- The NAUMD Image of the Year Award is sponsored by The Career Apparel Institute (CAI), a division of the NAUMD. A panel of garment and fashion experts independent of the NAUMD and the CAI, judge the entries based on the following criteria: image projection, neatness, practicality, use of a color scheme, originality, brand recognition, and coordination of garments with accessories. This year there are thirteen top Image of the Year" winners and six Outstanding Achievement" recipients.
Career Apparel is engineered to compliment the work environment, and the image the company wishes to present. The uniforms are designed with stylish accents and complimentary colors which blend fashion and function." Donna J. Pierson, Director of Marketing with the NAUMD, states, Therefore companys work with their employees to ensure that proper attention to special details be incorporated into the companys program. All of this is made possible with Career Apparel that is supplied by uniform industry professionals."
Ilene Rosen, CAI Chairperson states, Uniform design not only takes its lead from ready-to-wear, but ready-to-wear very often looks to uniform designs to help designers focus their presentations. The designers have translated the uniform look" into popular ready-to-wear fashions, such as khaki pants, military jackets, and baseball caps. Uniforms in itself, is fashion, designed to be individualized, but similar in fabrics used, colors palettes, and general silhouettes." So employees acceptance of their uniform design leads to a successful uniform program that projects employees as professional and competent. This in turn creates a positive corporate image with brand recognition and enhances employee identification; thus, leading to higher job satisfaction.
NAUMD is proud to announce the 2005 Image of the Year winners, each of whom receive a trophy, plaque, and certificate. Each year the winning uniform programs are presented at the Image of the Year fashion show and awards breakfast held at the NAUMD Annual Convention.
