Local Teen Explores Technology Industry During Silicon Valley Forum

Paul Janis, Schreiber High School, student is selected to participate in National Youth Leadership Forum on Technology

Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 1, 2005 -- Mr. Paul Janis of Port Washington was recently admitted to the National Youth Leadership Forum on Technology (NYLF/TECH). From June 27 to July 6 2005 Janis will join high school students from across the US in San Jose, California for an exploration of the field of technology.

Throughout the ten day program, Janis will engage in both group and independent projects including workshops led by industry insiders, product demonstrations, campus visits and tech-commerce encounters. The Forum's curriculum also consists of animated debate and discussion.

"The National Youth Forum on Technology provides an opportunity for tomorrow's innovators like Paul Janis to build upon and add to their skills, while also receiving inspiration and direction form todays technology leaders" said Donna Snyder, executive director of NYLF, "Many of these students are already making their mark in this exciting career field. The Forum helps them become well directed and better connected as they go about finding the right fit within the world of technology.

Currently slated to speak at NYLF/TECH are: Jaron Lanier, Virtual Reality Pioneer and Scientist, Shawn Fanning, founder and developer of Napster; Helen Grenier, chairman and co-founder of iRobot; and Guy Kawasaki, co-founder and managing director of Garage Technology Ventures and columnist for Forbes. Additional companies and institutions to take part in the Forum's curriculum include Symantec Corporation, Affymetrix, Inc, Sun Microsystems, Inc., Stanford University, and University of California Berkley and may others.
