Doors Open March 17 at "Rockville CA" On TheWB.com

Indie Rock-Driven Web Series from Executive Producers Josh Schwartz ("Gossip Girl") and Alexandra Patsavas ("Twilight") Features 20 Buzz-Worthy Bands, Hot Ensemble Cast

Burbank, CA (PRWEB) March 16, 2009 -- TheWB.com (http://www.thewb.com/) launches "Rockville CA" - a 20-episode, music-themed scripted digital series created by Josh Schwartz ("Gossip Girl," "Chuck," "The O.C.") - on Tuesday, March 17, at 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT, with the debut of the show's first four episodes. On "Rockville CA," Schwartz shares executive producing duties with noted music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas ("Twilight," "Grey's Anatomy," "The O.C.," "Gossip Girl").

"Rockville CA" stars Andrew J. West ("Privileged," "Greek"), Alexandra Chando ("As the World Turns"), Jelly Howie ("Dexter," "CSI: Miami"), Ryan Hansen ("Veronica Mars," "Las Vegas," upcoming untitled "Gossip Girl" spinoff), Matt Cohen ("South of Nowhere," "Supernatural"), Bonnie Burroughs ("Cold Case," "Eli Stone"), Lester Speight ("Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay") and Chris Yen ("A Good Day to Be Black & Sexy").

Executive producer and music supervisor Patsavas - whose golden touch is responsible for the mainstream media debuts of more than a dozen popular bands, including The Killers ("The O.C."), Death Cab for Cutie ("The O.C.") and The Fray ("Grey's Anatomy") - personally selected the acts to be featured on the first season of "Rockville CA." Viewers can expect to see indie favorites and up-and-coming acts including Kaiser Chiefs, Travis, Phantom Planet, The Duke Spirit, Eagles of Death Metal, Earlimart, Frightened Rabbit, The Kooks, The Little Ones, Lykke Li, Nico Stai, Passion Pit, White Lies, Anya Marina, Bishop Allen, The Broken West, Cass McCombs, Lights, Oppenheimer and The Republic Tigers.

Each of the show's 20 episodes runs between four and six minutes, and features a live musical performance. In some episodes, the live performance (in its original form, without lip-synching) is at the heart of the story, while in others it serves as a backdrop for the compelling drama and wry, rapid-fire banter between characters that are signature characteristics of Schwartz's work.

On March 17, the first four episodes of "Rockville CA" will be available on TheWB.com:

•    Episode 1, "Solo Acts": Deb and Hunter get off to a rocky start. Nico Stai performs.

•    Episode 2, "The Douche": The Kooks perform as "The Douche" makes himself known.

•    Episode 3, "Into Me": New waitress Callie is the talk of the club. The Broken West performs.

•    Episode 4, "Shoegazed": Deb's friend is heartbroken. The Duke Spirit performs.

Then, every Tuesday through May 12, two additional episodes of the series will be posted. In addition to viewing full episodes on TheWB.com, fans of the show can stream or download exclusive live music tracks from the show, watch videos, download a content-rich "Rockville CA" widget, and enjoy exclusive band interviews and other "Rockville CA" content at www.RockvilleCA.com.

"Rockville CA" is set in a fictional Los Angeles rock club and was shot on location at The Echo, a popular indie music venue in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The series takes viewers into the lives of a group of twentysomethings who gather regularly at the club to hear their favorite up-and-coming bands, blow off steam, fall in love with the wrong people, and then talk about how they've fallen in love with the wrong people.
