The Links At Gettysburg golf course,is being featured during the month of April in Clubhouse Golf Guide Online (www.clubhousegolfguide.net)
It's only six miles from the historic battlefield and centrally located for the entire Mid Atlantic region, a short drive from Baltimore,Washington,DC,Northern Virginia, Philadelphia and New Jersey.
Travel far and near and youll still never find another layout quite like The Links At Gettysburg. This 6-year-old course cut from the rolling hills along the Mason-Dixon Line is a one-of-a-kind.
The most unforgettable feature is its red rock cliffs that come into play on six holes. Combine the cliffs with 35 acres of lakes, a stream that runs through the center of the course, and a creek that runs around three-quarters of it and the entire setting is spectacular.
Architect Lindsay Ervin, in conjunction with Stephen Klein (a landscape architect and cousin of owner/developer Rick Klein), was able to take this stunning piece of nature and create some of the most memorable golf holes youll ever play. They spared no expense and they made it first-class - from the manicured tee-to-green bentgrass, to the the posh clubhouse, and all the way to the miniature civil war cannons that serve as tee markers.
The course plays 7,031 yards from the tips, with a 73.9 rating, making it extremely challenging for low handicappers. Three other tee areas, at 6,648, 6,184 and 4.861 yards, make the course accessible to all players.
The course is highly rated, with Golf Digest designating it a 4-Star Places to Play course and Golfweek naming it the sixth best public course in Pennsylvania for 2004 and 2005. Come out to The Links At Gettysburg for an exciting round of mountain golf that will test your game in a riveting environment.
A round at The Links At Gettysburg is more than 18 holes. It is a golfing experience that is unique and pleasurable.
While The Links offers a collection of challenging holes, it remains exceedingly playable. Ervin and Klein succeed in making you feel you are in the heat of the battle as you move from one spectacular layout to another. Yet, when the smoke clears and the final score is posted, you may be pleasantly surprised to discover youve walked away victorious.
