Electrophysics® Offers Highest Resolution IR Camera for Surveillance

Emerald MW-MCT incorporates advanced focal plane array with 15 micron pitch detector.

Fairfield, NJ (PRWEB) April 4, 2005 -- Electrophysics, a leader in infrared imaging solutions, is pleased to offer the Emerald MCT infrared camera. Designed for high performance imaging, the Emerald MW-MCT incorporates an advanced high performance, Mercury Cadmium Telluride (MCT) large format focal plane array having 640x512 pixels that produces an infrared image at full TV resolution.

Responsive in the 3-5 µm wavelength midwave" band, Emerald exhibits a typical NETD figure of 25mK, allowing users to detect minute temperature differences at great distances. At 15 µm, the camera has the smallest pixel pitch available in a commercial unit today. As a consequence, the camera yields up to two times the image magnification when compared to other cameras having the same lens and the commonly larger pixel pitch. The advantages of such technology are more pixels on target, a smaller microcooler and much smaller optics.

The Emerald MW-MCT is a COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) camera, well suited for a variety of applications, including target signature analysis and data collection, airborne imaging, range tracking, gimbal payloads, high speed imaging and Non Destructive Testing (NDT). A full complement of lenses and filters are available to meet specific object geometry and application requirements.

For users who wish to integrate the camera to a larger system, the Emerald cameras are fully controllable from a host computer through a digital communication port. Exposure time and external synchronization modes as well as other key parameters are all programmable by the internal software. The Emerald cameras are also compatible with ALTAIR, an intuitive infrared analysis software package providing real-time 14-bitimage recording. ALTAIR delivers superior versatility, a wide range of analysis tools and high speed for stop action acquisition capability.
