Oppidan Library has finished its rendition of George Chapman's translation of the Odyssey by Homer. Free PDF version available for download.

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWeb via Newswire.net) March 30, 2005 -- Oppidan Library, in its ongoing effort to re-publish its collection of 50,000 classic, and out-of-print titles has finished its rendition of George Chapman's translation of the Odyssey by Homer. Free PDF version available for at http://oppidanlibrary.com/chapman.htm

Chapmans translation "according to the Greek" of Homers epic the Odyssey, originally published in folio, 1614--16, has become so rare as to be inaccessible to the general reader, and comparatively unknown to even the more curious student of old English literature.

Oppidan Library used original folio editions to compile this rendition of the Odyssey, complete in original syntaxt and spelling.
