Officeworks Go Live With an 'In Store' Inventory Management Solution from Sky Technologies

Australia's largest office supplies retailer, Officeworks, rolls out Sky's Inventory Management solution to 118 stores nationally.

Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) 24 March, 2009 -- With the conclusion of a three month pilot project involving 10 stores, Sky Technologies have finalized a deal with Australia's largest office supplies retail chain, Officeworks, to rollout SkyMobile across 118 retail outlets across Australia.

The application will provide for a SAP online mobility application on the shop floor, allowing real time stock location and back order quantities in a particular store and the four closest geographic store locations. The mobility project maximizes the investment in Motorola handheld devices already in use and forms part of the Officeworks point of sale (POS) rollout.

The proof of concept pilot was delivered to 10 stores across 2 states and provided Officeworks the ability to realize increased efficiency in stock enquiries, customer service and increased availability of their sales team members on the shop floor.

Future development on the mobile application is being planned to incorporate on-line stock take, shelf edge label printing and goods receiving.
