Benicia Vallejo Humane Society Exceeds Goal at Barkitecture II for Kitties Too

The Benicia Vallejo Humane Society today announced that its goal of $29,000 for Barkitecture II was exceeded by $13,000. Barkitecture II is an annual gala event that includes a designer dog house and cat furniture competition, as well as live and silent auctions. Barkitecture II funds will be used for much needed operational funds to care for the animals and for outreach to build awareness of the plight of the many homeless dogs and cats available for adoption at the Benicia Vallejo Humane Society.

Vallejo, CA (PRWEB) April 15, 2005 -- The Benicia Vallejo Humane Society today announced that its goal of $29,000 for Barkitecture II was exceeded by $13,000. Barkitecture II is an annual gala event that includes a designer dog house and cat furniture competition, as well as live and silent auctions.

Barkitecture II funds will be used for much needed operational funds to care for the animals and for outreach to build awareness of the plight of the many homeless dogs and cats available for adoption at the Benicia Vallejo Humane Society.

The event began Friday, March 25, 2005 with the Peoples Choice Voting and Preview at the Vallejo Museum. Over 165 people attended to vote on the 13 domiciles. The excitement continued a week later at the Barkitecture II gala event and competition Friday, April 1, 2005 at USA World Classic Car Museum. The 250 plus partygoers eagerly bid on over 200 silent and live auction items donated by local businesses and supporters of the Humane Society. Everyones taste buds were in delight with the hors d oeuvres and gourmet Italian feast prepared by Hors d oeuvres To Go and the award winning dessert creations by Kathy Nelson were enjoyed by all.

Volunteers of the Humane Society and the Straits of Mare Island Rowing Association added the touch of class by serving hors d oeuvres and beverages throughout the evening. Everyones talking about how first class" the events were, and for the second year of the event, it is amazing to see the growth in attendance. The improvements over last year left everyone planning to attend Barkitecture III for our Feathered Friends Too! for April 2006.
