Camcode Exhibits Asset Tags at the UID Forum April 6-8 in Denver

UID labels and asset tags for military uses will be shown at a conference next week in Denver

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) April 3, 2009 -- The Camcode Division of Horizons Incorporated will exhibit UID Labels (http://www.camcod.com/uid/uid.asp) and Services on April 6-8 at the UID Forum in Denver, Colorado. Camcode will be introducing its new camouflaged Tactical UID labels and MetalSoft Labels for curved surfaces. Camcode will also be introducing its new Registration and Installation services.

UID is a Department of Defense program for improved visibility of information about DoD possessions to make purchase, repair, and deployment of items more efficient. And, it begins with Mil-Std-130.

Military Standard -130 has set the standard for IUID label performance. It says "....marking and identification plates...bands...tags...or labels shall be as permanent as the normal life expectancy of the item and capable of withstanding the environmental tests and cleaning procedures of the...item." As explained by Randy Uveges, Camcode's UID Product Manager, "The goal is that the machine readable information on the label remains readable (scan-able) for the intended life of the item marked. This is different than the historical standard of simple human legibility for labels and data plates. Given that the cell size of a data matrix code is typically smaller than a grain of salt and DoD equipment is exposed to the harshest tests, it is imperative to choose a label with laudable performance characteristics."

Camcode was the first and remains the leader in high performance labels and data plates. Camcode® materials and process technologies ensure the longest label life in the harshest of conditions. Bar codes on Camcode labels remain machine readable in conditions where all others have failed. Camcode knows more about materials, adhesive technologies, and how to meet your application needs than anyone.
