New Versions of Boris FX and Graffiti Now Available Advanced Compositing and Titling Solutions Integrate with Industry-standard NLEs Boris FX, the leading developer of integrated effects technology for video and film, today announced that FX 8.0 and Graffiti 4.0 are now shipping. Both plug-in solutions add new host support including Canopus Edius Pro 3, Media 100 HD and Pinnacle Liquid Edition as well as additional hardware support including video out from the standalone KeyFramer for Avid systems with supported hardware. An innovative new Template mode lets users create effects directly in the Library Browser. The Library Browser includes additional customizable presets to streamline effects creation. More presets will be available as a free download.
The following additional improvements were added to FX Version 8.0: - Motion Tracking, Stabilizing and Corner Pin Tracker filters have been added. These filters were taken from the award-winning Boris Red. - Multiple optimizations provide an average of 20 percent rendering speed improvements. - Improved support for third-party After Effects plug-ins. - Projects and settings remain fully compatible with the Version 6.0 and 6.0.1 releases.
The following additional improvements were added to Graffiti Version 4.0: - Multiple optimizations provide an average of 75 percent rendering speed improvement on Macintosh systems and 25 percent on Windows systems. - New filters have been added, including Displacement Map, Spiral Blur and Burnt Film. - Create animated 2D and 3D charts from imported spreadsheet or user input data. This new feature was taken from the award-winning Boris Red. - Projects and settings remain fully compatible with the Version 3.0 and 3.0.1 releases.
You apply FX and Graffiti to clips in your host NLE timeline, then open a custom interface to create effects. This architecture allows the plug-ins to share an interface that behaves the same across platforms and in each of the more than 20 supported NLEs, including Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Avid systems.
FX is a great value with realistic lighting, advanced keying and color correction, compositing, DVE, vector paint and support for third-party After Effects filters. More than 60 filters include motion tracking and image stabilization, as well as self-animating natural effects that easily interact with timeline video. In addition, FX includes the KeyFramer, a standalone application that creates effects offline using any computer.
Graffitis feature set includes sophisticated vector paint and shapes that can be animated and extruded, support for third-party After Effects filters, animatable gradients and procedurally generated natural media, as well as more than 25 filters. In addition to the expansive Library Browser, users can directly type and edit text over the video background for easy application.
Graffiti, FX and other Boris solutions will be demonstrated at the National Association of Broadcasting Convention (NAB) 2005 in booth SL4045 in the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 18-21, 2005. Boris solutions will also be shown in the Avid Developer Community booth SL1210A.
