Alive! Records Latest Release Proves the Detroit Music Scene Is Still On Fire Detroit legendary blues rockers, The Howling Diablos, produce a raw and gritty new CD, "Carwash", that is sure to kick open the back door of the music industry and put its dirty feet on the designer couch of the "cookie-cutter" music trends. (PRWEB) April 19, 2005 -- This is gritty, down and dirty blues rock'n'roll made in Detroit. "Car Wash" is a blues rock album of the most traditional kind, performed with craft and power by one of Michigan's best kept out-of-state secrets. Formed in the mid-90s as the house band for the legendary Detroit blues club Sully's, the Diablos honed their chops backing up blues and R&B stars like Earl King, Johnny Adams, Albert Collins, and Johnnie Johnson, before devising their own brand of funk jam blues, and becoming one of the most popular live bands in the Detroit area.
Over the years they have released a couple of self-produced CDs, toured with George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic, opened for Hank Williams Jr. and countless other blues and rock greats, and collaborated with many of the current Detroit stars. Two years ago they recorded the old-school blues classic, "Wine Spo Dee O Dee", with a guest appearance by Kid Rock, for the Ahmet Ertegen produced Sun records tribute album, and in 2004 lead singer Tino Gross produced "Darker Blues" for Mississippi legend RL Burnside.
This album of dirty funk blues, which also features Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels original drummer, the legendary Johnny 'Bee' Badanjek, should finally establish the Howling Diablos as one of Michigan's greatest.
