CyberShield Networks, a leading provider of a proactive security environmental solution that accurately detects and mitigates both known and unknown attacks with early warning, announced today that it was selected out of hundreds of companies to present at the United States Department of Homeland Security Emerging Security Technology Forum (ESTF).

Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 25, 2005 -- CyberShield Networks, a leading provider of a proactive security environmental solution that accurately detects and mitigates both known and unknown attacks with early warning, announced today that it was selected out of hundreds of companies to present at the United States Department of Homeland Security Emerging Security Technology Forum (ESTF).

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate Cyber Security Research and Development Program within the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA) announced that 13 technology vendors have been selected to present information security solutions to government personnel at the DHS/S&T Emerging Security Technology Forum (ESTF) on April 13-14, 2005.

"One of the goals of the Cyber Security R&D Center is to identify and support emerging security technologies being developed in the private sector. The Emerging Security Technology Forum is our first event that brings vendors and government representatives together to learn about government needs and the technology solutions that may be available to meet those needs," said Douglas Maughan, Cyber Security Program Manager within DHS S&T HSARPA.

CyberShield Networks IPDM offers the industrys only proactive security solution to suspend and quarantine both known and unknown attacks, before they occur. This breakthrough technology delivers a unique paradigm, with features including real-time intrusion identification, risk assessment, incident management and tracking of suspicious activities -- all before an attack breaches perimeter defenses from outside and, more importantly, potential damages to critical assets from inside.

"CyberShield Networks is extremely excited to have been chosen to participate in this high profile important event. We are deeply committed to continue developing and providing highly unique leading edge technologies that empower true proactive management for the protection of our nation's critical infrastructure from devastating DDos attacks, worm propagation and hacking attempts," said Charles Strasburger, President and CEO of CyberShield Networks. We are very pleased to have the inimitable opportunity to share our compelling story of how we can best support the considerable undertaking of being a part of securing our nations valuable computing resources."

IPDM is designed specifically to help users overcome the difficulties of accurately identifying attacks and assessing their impact in real-time. The end result is that organizations can realize a substantial cost savings through reduced operating expenses and, more importantly, avoid costly network breaches by proactively blocking attacks, and interactively and effectively managing risk.

About Emerging Security Technology Forum:

The ESTF is an opportunity to introduce government representatives to smaller-sized information security technology vendors whose innovative approaches can help to continually assess and prevent security risks in the nations critical infrastructure. For this ESTF vendors will present and demonstrate current and emerging information security technologies that defend against DDOS and worm attacks. The audience will include federal, state, and local government technologists, technical managers, and others responsible for incorporating new technologies into critical government infrastructures.

A critical area of focus for the DHS S&T Directorate is the development and deployment of technologies to protect the nations cyber infrastructure including the Internet and other critical infrastructures that depend on computer systems for their mission.
