Ventura, CA (PRWEB) April 28, 2005 -- Hydraulic Leg Inc, announced today the launching of its highly anticipated comic book series "Hydraulic Leg." This is a new family-friendly comic book recently introduced at the Comic-Con International show in San Diego. The main character Hydraulic Leg, is a 14-year-old boy who is born with a high-tech, prosthetic right leg which enables him to battle the dark overlords within his community.

"Hydraulic Leg is a fresh twist of a super hero," said Greg Furie of Hydraulic Leg Inc., which specializes in creating family-friendly entertainment. "He is a teen super hero that the average person can relate to, as he is also dealing with the normal issues of life."

Since its formal release in July, Hydraulic Leg has garnered considerable attention from a number of industries Furie explained. "We have several production companies interested in our hero, and have a complete line of merchandise including toys and video games set to debut in the summer of '06," he said. "We have several issues complete and available for online and offline purchase, and are currently producing the highly anticipated television series."

Hydraulic Leg was created by co-writers Greg Furie and Michael Cassidy, animator Dan Schoening and illustrator Ken Faulks. Hydraulic Leg Inc. is owned by Greg Furie and David Stewart. The comic book reveals the ordinary and super-hero side of Jonas Paxton (Hydraulic Leg). Jonas is a friendly red-haired teenager with a passion for roller derby and performing acts of kindness. His modesty and anonymous exploits make him the ideal Good Samaritan.

Unlike other teenagers, Jonas was born with a hydraulic leg that looks like an exhaust pipe, but is actually a high-powered device that gives him amazing powers. His leg enables him to fly, magnetize objects, fire a laser that can penetrate six feet of steel and shoot a stream of soda pop into the eyes of villains.

With the support of Madge (Jonas' mother) and Hydro (Jonas' dog), Jonas faces his most challenging adversary: Evila, a virtual praying mantis and physician who is secretly plotting to turn everyone on the planet into a human-animal hybrid. The adventure that is set to unfold, promises to give readers a captivating saga of good against evil.
