Hosted by the World Ethical Foundations Consortium (WEFC), the event will take place at 2 p.m. on May 6 at the Palace Theatre, located at 19 Clinton Avenue. Developing ethical principles based on compassion is a concept that the WEFC and organizers hope will encourage audience members to work together to expand humanitarian efforts both in the Albany community and throughout the world. His Holiness, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, is recognized worldwide for his promotion of human rights. In 2007, the U.S. Congress gave him the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest award Congress can give to civilians. Tickets for the event are available beginning Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m. in person at the Palace Theatre Box Office, by calling Ticketmaster charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000, or through http://www.ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $85 to $55. The doors will open at 12 p.m., two hours prior to the start of the event to permit a required security screening.
