Committee to Support Original LA County Seal Unites with American Legion in Battle against ACLU

LA County Seal Group, which was recently endorsed by LA Mayor Jim Hahn, has joined forces with the American Legion in the effort to remove financial incentives for the ACLU.

The Group endorsed by LA Mayor Jim Hahn, has joined the American Legion in it's fight to Amend the Civil Rights Attorney Fees Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 1988.

The American Legion Resolution 326 calls upon Congress to eliminate the authority of judges to award attorney fees in cases brought under the "Establishment Clause" to remove or destroy religious symbols.

It was under the threat of a lawsuit, using the "Establishment Clause" rational, that the ACLU was able to remove the cross from the LA County Seal.

Los Angeles, despite it's size, resources and the historical significance of the cross, folded under the mere threat of litigation by the ACLU.

Attorney Fees awarded to the ACLU in the millions of dollars, continues to be a threat, no community or organization can afford to challenge.

Current cases in Riverside, San Diego, Mojave and cities across the United States will benefit from the efforts of the American Legion and the Committee to Support the LA County Seal, in removing the threat of massive awards imposed on the communities under Section 42.
