SEATTLE, WA (PRWEB) May 9, 2005 -- Generation X-ers start new company, Tech Tutor Video, to instruct baby boomers and seniors on practical computer and Internet use, and reduce family tech support calls. Their first DVD video, 'Introduction to Computers and the Internet, was released today.

Seattle natives, Brett and Megan Stewart started Tech Tutor Video after Brett, a software systems consultant, spent the 2004 holiday season helping aunts, uncles, parents and in-laws solve technology issues that spanned Windows XP®, wireless networking, internet searching and anti-virus protection. I noticed a striking similarity in the kinds of questions and concerns from both of our families," said Brett Stewart. They were looking for the simplest approach to performing specific tasks. No one was very receptive when I mentioned the availability of beginning computer books. They wanted simple explanations while watching the steps performed on the computer." This tell and show" approach is the basis for Tech Tutor Videos instruction style.

Ad hoc market research revealed that many of his friends and colleagues were also acting as the family tech support person; lamenting their role and expressing willingness to pay above-market prices for early releases of the video. Thats when I knew we had something," notes Stewart.

Megan Stewart, a mechanical engineer and self-proclaimed non-techie, hosts the video. She also acted as content editor, simplifying explanations, removing acronyms and throwing out the non-essential technical jargon.

With their first release, 'Lesson 1 -- Introduction to Computers and Technology, Tech Tutor Video addresses the major questions of baby boomers and seniors just beginning to explore technology, including: computer hardware 101, Windows XP basics, elements of security, how to shrink" the internet, and getting started on email.

'Lesson 1 -- Introduction to Computers and Technology is available now, and on sale through May at the product introduction price of $17.99. Available on the internet at http://www.techtutorvideo.com or by calling 1-877-544-4066.
