CSI: NY Directors of Photography Use Cooke S4 Prime Lenses When Shooting Crime Scene Investigations for Popular TV Show

Cooke professional lenses help bring the drama, mystery and thrills of CSI: NY to life.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) May 10, 2005

When it comes to investigating crime scenes in New York, CSI: NY cinematographers Dermott Downs and Chris Manley gather all the evidence with the help of Cooke S4 Prime Lenses.

In fact, Manley was nominated for an ASC Award by the American Society of Cinematographers for the episode of CSI: NY entitled “A Man a Mile.” In addition, a short Indie film on which Manley served as cinematographer, “My Mother Dreams the Satan’s Disciples in New York,” won an academy award for Best Live Action Short film in 2000.

Downs, both a cinematographer and an actor, matriculated from CBS’ CSI: Miami to establish the look for CSI: NY. Downs shot the New York episode on “Miami” that introduced Detective Mac Taylor, played by actor Gary Sinise.

In addition to Sinise, CSI: NY features a cast that includes Vanessa Ferlito, Carmine Giovinazzo, Hill Harper and Melina Kanakaredes. That talented cast, along with cinematographers Downs and Manley’s use of Cooke professional lenses, helped bring the drama, mystery and thrills of CSI: NY to life.
