InventHelp® Client Signs Licensing Deal with A & E Tools Mississippi Inventor invents a new tool that could apply torque to a Harley Davison. Jeff Mayfield is a client of Pittsburgh-based company InventHelp Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) May 6, 2009 -- Motorcycle mechanic and InventHelp® client Jeff Mayfield has had many years of experience repairing the rocker assembly on Harley Davidson Motorcycles. The Mississippi native had difficulty with existing tools on the market because they would usually slip off the rocker assembly and increase the repair time. To solve this issue, Mayfield invented the Springer Fork Rocker Assembly Tool (SFRAT). The SFRAT could apply torque to the rocker assembly on a Harley Davidson, holding it stationary during repairs. Believing that mechanics of all types would have interest in his invention, Mayfield contacted his local InventHelp® sales office in March of 2005 to purchase submission services and be referred to a patent attorney.
In May of 2006, Intromark Incorporated, InventHelp's sister licensing company, presented Mayfield's invention to Mike Nelson, Marketing Operations Manager at A & E Hand Tools. A & E is a company that makes and markets a varied line of mechanic's tools, including specialty tools for motorcycle mechanics and is a registered company in the InventHelp® Databank. In August of 2006, one of Intromark's licensing executives followed up with Nelson and was pleased to learn that A & E was interested in the SFRAT, and requested to review the prototype and patent application.
After some consideration, A & E was interested in potentially licensing the invention, but would first need to develop cost estimates, redesign the SFRAT, produce prototypes of the new version and ultimately have these prototypes tested. This development process took several months, and in the spring of 2007, A & E had produced prototypes and sent them to their field mechanics for testing.
In August of 2007, Nelson informed Intromark that A & E did indeed want to license the SFRAT. After two months of negotiating, a license agreement was signed in December of 2007. A & E received the right to manufacture and market SFRAT worldwide. The SFRAT is currently on the market and can be purchased online at http://www.aeincorporated.com. This InventHelp® client has not made a financial gain. For more information on Jeff Mayfield, the SFRAT or InventHelp, America's Leading Invention Service Company, log onto http://www.inventhelp.com.
From 2006-2008, they signed Submission Agreements with 5,692 clients. As a result of their services, 91 clients have received license agreements for their products, and 21 clients have received more money than they paid us for these services.
Most InventHelp clients do not have the opportunity to have their invention manufactured and sold in major retail outlets.
