UN Foundation Commends President Obama on his Global Health Plan

Daniel J. Carucci, Vice President for Global Health at the United Nations Foundation, released a statement on the Administration's global health plan.

(Vocus) May 7, 2009 -- Daniel J. Carucci, Vice President for Global Health at the United Nations Foundation, released the following statement on the Administration's global health plan.

"The President's statement signals the administration's dedication to extending and strengthening U.S. leadership in global health and developing key strategies toward fighting HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, but also to broader global health challenges including the need to improve health systems, reduce childhood mortality, improve maternal health and reduce unintended pregnancies, with a renewed emphasis on prevention.
