Boulder, CO (PR Web) May 15th, 2005 -- Two hip chicks from Colorado Springs traveled to Boulder this weekend to support a hip-hop music video that teaches kids about human rights. UNITED screens as an official selection at the Moondance International Film Festival at Chautauqua Park.

Taron Lexton, a young graduate director from Los Angeles Film School was just 19 years old when he went on the Youth for Human Rights International World Educational Tour 2004 with educator Mary Shuttleworth Founder of Youth for Human Rights International and Executive Producer of UNITED. Lexton literally circumnavigated the globe, and covered more than 45,000 miles shooting original footage in 14 countries. Leslie Brown, lead producer at TXL Films, produced the main story on location in Los Angeles.

UNITED is a short film in a music video format, that tells the story of an inner-city kid (André Boydon) who just wants to play basketball. But after a villainous thug (Erick Forté) bullies him off the court, he unifies the world to help him fight for his right to play. The short features cameos by soul legend Isaac Hayes, Jenna Elfman, Erika Christensen, and Catherine Bell.

Rowena Cross and her friend Kaiiba decided to support the film. Im really proud of my sister for producing this film. It takes guts to make any kind of film, but even more determination to be a woman film-maker addressing such an important issue, and be taken seriously."

When asked why she is so passionate about this issue, Brown responds, I recently learned about the atrocities of human trafficking and knew I had to do something big to increase awareness. And as the great philosopher L. Ron Hubbard said, 'Human Rights must be made a fact, not an idealistic dream. So, as a parent, this is how I can make the world a safer place for my kids."

UNITED has received accolades from numerous officials including the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Mayor of Los Angeles, James K. Hahn, and the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
