Schaller Gallery Launches "The American Dream" Art Competition

Schaller + Jaquish Art Projects and the Rhonda Schaller Studio have launched "The American Dream" competition for artists, photographers, and crafts people.

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 11, 2009 -- Schaller + Jaquish Art Projects and the Rhonda Schaller Studio have launched "The American Dream" competition for artists, photographers, and crafts people. The competition is open to all artists, all media. Applications for submission are now being accepted and must be completed by May 31, 2009.

All works will be on view in the Online Projects Room Gallery Thursday July 4th 2009 through June 30, 2010.

Rhonda Schaller, Gallery Director, comments, "Vision Integrity Support - we feel this is the new American Dream. Artists and vision makers have a special role to play, to lead and support, and display dialogue. We are curious about the transition to voluntary simplicity from material largess. We want to know what other artists think, and display work that speaks to these issues. "

REVOLUTION and RENAISSANCE will be a series of online exhibitions presenting ideas over the next four years. Application form and guidelines for the "The American Dream" competition can be found at: http://rhondaschallerchelsea.com/schaller-jaquish-art-projects-exhibition.html.

About Schaller + Jaquish Art Projects and Rhonda Schaller Studio.

The Rhonda Schaller Studio has moved to a total online format and renamed Schaller + Jaquish Art Projects, Contemporary Art - NYC, NJ. Schaller + Jaquish presents shows based on curatorial themes in the online Project Room Galleries, and around town in found spaces. Moving away from the gallery as retail store, exhibiting artists receive 100% of the sale proceeds.

Speaking about the changes at the gallery, Rhonda Schaller and Dave Jaquish state "In this economy we believe an important attitude change is necessary in the arts. Led by frugality and integrity, we encourage all artists (ourselves included of course) to develop individualism, entrepreneurship and a pioneering spirit. We will continue to engage in what is genuinely creative, productive and nourishing; and recommend the adoption of practices that allow self-sufficiency, self-reliance and yet mutual support to grow from the core of a new community spirit. We hope the growth of such values will be reflected in our art.".
