Is America Ready for the ARTV Awards?

So Cal Woman Artist Nominated for-1st Ever-"Academy Award" style ARTV fine art awards to air on Television.

(PRWEB) May 16, 2005

Ready or not-- here comes the ARTV Awards.

The 2005 ARTV Awards will be the first ever, celebrity-packed, multi-media, “Academy Award” style, red-carpet fine art awards for artists.

McKenzie, an Orange County artist, has been nominated in the Mixed Media category for her artwork described as organic abstractions.

"I am elated to be part of this ground-breaking show that will bring fine art into the American living room.. What could be more perfect than a visual medium, such as television, promoting the visual medium of fine art?" says McKenzie.

ARTV is the brain-child of producer and Las Vegas resident Audrey Roberts. She is bringing art to collectors- and collectors to the arts- through a company that plans to bring it all to television.

In this era of reality television, is the audience ready to "Meet the Artists"? -- Millions of dollars and corporate sponsors are betting on it! The concept is new and unproven.

"Fine artists have always been overlooked," says Roberts, "and while there are new, emerging art stars in America, there are awards for everything BUT art."

Why is ARTV so important?

In an economy where budgets are being cut to the bone-- Fine arts programs in schools and society are losing funding. Art has become a luxury that Americans seem to be living without.

ARTV aims to change all that. The show will acquaint the viewers with the artists through video presentations of the creative process and through personal interviews.

“We want collectors to feel as if they are relating to us directly as people; which in turn, deepens their connection to our work.” says nominated artist, McKenzie.

Invest in art and surround yourself with beauty seems to be the theme and underlying current of the planned broadcast which will be filmed in HDTV.

The Las Vegas Centennial Celebration has sanctioned the event that will be held October 28, 2005 at the MGM Grand scheduled to be broadcast on network television soon after.

Please note: A sneak preview party and unveiling of the nominees with take place on July 14, 2005 at the Highlands (Hollywood/Highland) in Los Angeles. It is expected to be a grand affair hosted by celebrities and is invitation only. (Press and VIPs) from 7-9pm Public welcome from 9pm-close
