FCC official Lauren Van Wazer will be interviewed live at 10:00 Eastern on Wireless Tech Radio, a web-based talk radio show that focuses on exploring Wireless Technology. Van Wazer will discuss the FCC's recent Wireless Broadband Access Task Force Report. - Making use of television spectrum to deploy broadband wireless services without waiting until the conversion to digital television is complete

- Highlights the role of small, independent Wireless Internet Service Providers that serve many communities as a sole or primary provider of Broadband Internet Access

- Discusses the surprising and effective use of unlicensed portions of spectrum such as the popular 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands to provide last mile" Broadband Internet Access

Lauren Van Wazer is Special Counsel to the Chief of the FCCs Office of Engineering and Technology and Co-director of the FCCs Broadband Wireless Access Task Force.

Ms. Van Wazer joined the FCC in 1999 as a senior staff attorney in the Commercial Wireless Division of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. Ms. Van Wazer received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center, where she was an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and a member of the Order of the Coif. She also received a B.S.E. in Systems Science Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania's Moore School of Electrical Engineering.
