The Empowered Healthcare Community is a new Bay Area non-profit that provides patients with information, strategies and skills to work in true partnership with their doctors and nurses to greatly reduce their chances of encountering mis-diagnoses and medical errors. The new organization, The Empowered Healthcare Community, will sponsor the Empowered Healthcare Conference 2009 at the UCSF Mission Bay center in San Francisco for all patients, caregivers, and advocates who want know now how to better navigate and succeed in today's health care world. The event will feature many expert speakers including Dr. Dean Ornish, entrepreneur Jay Tenenbaum, journalist Carol Lin formerly of CNN, and Nobel Peace Prize winner Stephen Schneider.
