Nebraska Author Hits Bookshelves with Not Just One, But Two, Books Aimed At Healing Some Of Lifes Tougher Issues Nebraska author, Juliet Freitag, released her non-fiction self-help book entitled Peering Out Through the Cracks: Coping On the Inside" May 1st, and under her pen name, Julie Doggett, releases a fiction picture book dealing with death and the everlasting bonds of families entitled Families Are Families Forever" on May 22. Crawford, NA (PRWEB) May 21, 2005 -- Juliet Freitag knows how tough life can be. When she was a child, her single mother came home and told Juliet she was dying of cancer. Two weeks later she did, sending Juliet and her brother of a journey of pain and suffering. As an adult, she thought the hard times were left behind after she was married and had two beautiful daughters. Life had other plans.
In September 1996, Juliet and her husband were told the horrible news they hoped would never come. Their 22 month old daughter Kyla had inoperable cancer. They were given little hope of Kylas survival. They took Kyla home, and tried to pick up the shattered pieces of their lives. Within months they realized they would have to take control to find a way to save their daughter.
Against all odds they traveled across country for an investigational and controversial treatment for Kyla. Kylas cancer stopped growing within weeks, so Juliet picked up her pen and paper to write about how she learned to stand on her own two feet, and take on the crises life kept throwing her way. Thus her non-fiction book Peering Out Through the Cracks..." was born.
In June of 1999 Kyla lost her battle against cancer, throwing Juliet reeling into a world no parent should ever have to face. She questioned where Kyla had gone, if their love continued, and if they were all still a family. One night Juliet had a dream she felt was from Kyla, showing her how Kyla felt her familys grief. Juliet sat down and wrote and illustrated a childrens book expressing the message she thought Kyla, and anyone else who has passed on, wants their loved ones left living to know.
Juliet has a skill or writing emotions in a way that others cant. She has an open and honest approach to situations often pushed into dark places by society. Shes not afraid to take on those things which make others cringe, or feel ashamed for thinking and feeling. Both of her books help readers heal and grow through lifes crises.
