Mundo Reviews Jesse James" on The Swamp"

Critic Frank Mundo has reviewed George Jansens novel The Jesse James Scrapbook on The Swamp," a web-based literary magazine and given it four stars.

(PRWEB) May 21, 2005 -- Southern California book reviewer and author Frank Mundo has reviewed George Jansens novel The Jesse James Scrapbook on The Swamp," a web-based literary magazine, and called the book a provocative and entertaining work of fiction worthy of the true legend himself."

Mundo, who also reviews books for The San Diego Union-Tribune, says the novel is not just a historical study of the infamous outlaw, but an examination of the James legend through the historical voice of the press and people of America, which are fictionally recreated by Jansen. Mundo sees the book as an attempt to reconcile the national scar left by slavery and the Civil War, in which James fought. He gives it four stars.

The Swamp" describes itself as a seething miasma of stories and articles." It can be viewed at http://www.the-swamp.net. Mundos review can also be accessed through his website -- http://www.frankmundo.com. The Jesse James Scrapbook is published by Hilliard & Harris -- http://hilliardandharris.com.
