Festival Bajo el Sol Promotes Unity and Peace in Los Angeles - Peace March & Rally on July 16th, 2005 - Peace March and Rally planned for July 16th followed by Festival Bajo el Sol, an evangelistic outreach featuring Luis Palau, Marcos Witt, Funky, Annette Moreno, El Trio de Hoy, Joshua Chavez and more at the LA Coliseum. (PRWEB) May 23, 2005 In the wake of L.A. school rioting, organizers for Festival Bajo el Sol unite three organizations: ActionHouse, Unidos Por Jesucristo (UPJ), and The Wealth of Nations Foundation to promote cross-cultural unity and peace in Los Angeles. A non-denomination Peace March and Rally is scheduled for the morning of July 16th preceding Festival Bajo el Sol, an evangelistic outreach expecting to draw 60,000  80,000 Hispanics to the L.A. Coliseum. On July 9th, a week prior to the Peace March & Festival, Los Angeles County will be covered in prayer. More than 200 civic and church leaders will be organized in prayer routes throughout and over the city. Three airplanes will fly groups of 20 pastors sequentially over the city as they pray for the city of Los Angeles. Caravans of prayer teams will travel every surface street, freeway and byway blanketing every avenue and neighborhood with intercessory prayer. ÂIt will take the whole church to transform the whole city, states Carlos Quintero, Executive Vice President for UPJ. ÂWe will be bringing together pastors and leaders from all denominations and ethnicities to pray and intercede for our city and youth. El Corazón del Festival Bajo el Sol, a celebratory fair with Ferris wheels, clowns and family fun will be open to the public and setup in the parking lot of the Coliseum for the weekend. Endorsed by: L.A. County Supervisor, Yvonne B. Burke; Councilman Bernard Parks; and the L.A. Coliseum Commision which includes: County Supervisors Mike Antonovich and Zev Yaroslavsky; the carnival is also an outreach event by the Heartline Program for at-risk youth, foster care and probation kids. Â85% of children in the correctional program are fatherless, which is a strong contributing factor to gang violence, says Jhayne Eddy, President and Founder of The Wealth of Nations Foundation, ÂDuring the festival, we will be connecting many of these children with mentors who can help restore and redirect their lives and provide gang intervention. The Youth After Party (9:30 p.m. till Midnight) will continue the carnival atmosphere with 30 inflated extreme sport Inflatables, 2 stages featuring hip-hop/break dancing, freestyle rap and many international artists on the main stage. ÂWe want to create a wholesome environment where young people can hear good music and an encouraging word, says Cliff Scamara, President and Founder of ActionHouse. ÂWe are hoping to make a difference in the lives of these children. What: Peace March  July 16th (8:00 am  noon) L.A.
