China Yuan Wang Signs Distribution Agreement with Mobitex Technology AB to Offer Mobitex to Electric Power Market in China

Mobitex Technology AB and Yuan Wang Technique & Equipment Co. Ltd. have entered into an agreement, outlining close co-operation for the development and distribution of Mobitex equipment, specifically tailored for the Chinese electricity grid.

Gothenburg, Sweden (PRWEB) May 20, 2009 -- The collaboration between the two companies will provide local distribution of Mobitex technology at 230 MHz frequency availability as a network technology of choice for grid monitoring and control. Mobitex technology has undergone extensive suitability testing to enable it to be approved for use in the Chinese national grid.

China is now seeing a rapid increase in demand for power and in order to satisfy the demand, needs to not only supply new power stations but also to dramatically improve the efficiency of the distribution network. By 2010, the capacity is expected to be almost doubled. However, building new capacity alone cannot solve the supply problem - when grid efficiency can be as low as 60%.

China is currently undertaking one of the largest infrastructure investments in the world, where investment in the power grid alone will reach USD $160 billion between 2007 and 2010. The government's five year plan has specified that all electricity transformers above a certain level (10 KVA) must be monitored and, preferrably, controlled remotely. A government budget of $500M per year has been set aside for wireless data automation programmes, in order to address the issues of line loss and power outages.

As Mobitex is a wireless network with an extremely high level of security and reliability, the technology is ideal for deployment to resolve these challenges.
